I was in the process of migrating a few quagga sites to frr and noticed that the default build suggests enabling fpm on frr. As far as I can tell, fpm is disabled on quagga. If I disable fpm from the build, zebra automatically installs the fpm configuration line in zebra.conf (fpm connection ip 0.0.0.0 port 0) at the first write conf. There does not seem to be a way to do a no fpm either from the cli Upon restart 0(backuprouter)# ./zebra -d *** Error reading config: There is no such command. *** Error occured processing line 27, below: fpm connection ip 0.0.0.0 port 0 0(backuprouter)# First off, should I enable fpm on stock FreeBSD ? If I disable it, how do I work around the fpm config issue. Zebra does start up fine, it just complains at startup Secondly, any other tips / suggestions beyond doc/Building_FRR_on_FreeBSD11 ? ---Mike -- ------------------- Mike Tancsa, tel +1 519 651 3400 Sentex Communications, mike@sentex.net Providing Internet services since 1994 www.sentex.net Cambridge, Ontario Canada http://www.tancsa.com/
Mike - I believe we were recommending FRR turn on FPM because non-compiled code is dead code. I think you have found some reasonable issues that we need to address. Can you open up an issue about this issue? It seems like we should just have the ability to enter a 'no ....' command for the FPM and it should not turn itself on by default when it is compiled in. If this issue is causing problems, I would recommend just turning it off until we get the issue addressed. I personally don't have tips on what to turn on/off from a compilation perspective. The options are rich and varied. donald On Mon, Apr 3, 2017 at 11:10 AM, Mike Tancsa <mike@sentex.net> wrote:
