Just checked the control file for the 18.04 backport On dependency it shows “libjson-c2 | libjson-c3” for the libjson, so either of them should work. - Martin On 9 Aug 2018, at 13:09, Brandon Applegate wrote:

Hi there,
I just downloaded the deb and installed it on my 18.04 box with dpkg. I have the following version of libjson-c:
vagrant@ubuntu-bionic ~> dpkg -l | grep libjson-c ii libjson-c-dev:amd64 0.12.1-1.3 amd64 JSON manipulation library - development files ii libjson-c3:amd64 0.12.1-1.3 amd64 JSON manipulation library - shared library
The output you pasted doesn’t look like dpkg or apt output to me; what are you using to install?
Hello,
Thanks for the reply. That’s ansible output. I have been bouncing between 16.04 and 18.04 boxes and I might have gotten my wires crossed on versions / packaging. Apologies in advance if this is the case. I will post what I come up with shortly.
